    I remember, how I used to use this against my friends to annoy them. I know it’s not a very good way to use lemon in friendship … but come on we were kids back then! However, when we grow older life starts giving us the lemon back and somehow we eventually learn how to squirt the lemon in someone’s eye when life gives us a lemon. But the fun fact is that, from using the lemons in life we have learned how to use lemons in our daily food … funny right? But, it is the truth!

    The origin of lemons is unknown, though lemons are thought to have first grown in Assam (it’s a region in northeast India), northern Myanmar, or China.      The cultivar originated in Italy but now can be found in Florida. The trees carry a larger-than-normal amount of fruit and the peels contain a higher portion of essential oils than Lisbon or Eureka. It attracts people who are looking to capitalize on various refined lemon products. Bearss Lemons are similar in appearance to both the Eureka and Lisbon Lemons. Bearss Lemon Tree is also known for its aromatic and oily skin which is ideal for zesting favourite recipes. Bearss Lemon is far less thorny, unlike the other varieties. Bearss Lemon contains a high juice content with less seed which is good for making freshly squeezed Lemonade! The Bearss Lemon does especially well in full sun with partial shade in well-drained soil. They are also self-pollinating but have the capability to yield even more fruit when planted in multiples.
    The trees are vigorous and are very sensitive to cold. This is the variety you can buy at the grocery store. It has thicker skin and more tart but it contains more juice.

    Potential lemon tree problem & How to avoid them – 
     
    1. Waterlogged roots:   It is the cause of over-watering the plants. It can be also due to shallow watering, or watering the wrong part of the plant. Trees can become easily hurt by citrus diseases and roots rot, and absorb very little nutrients from the soil. To avoid it, it’s important to improve the structure of the soil, especially the topsoil. Water the drip line and not the trunk!

    2. Sunburn:   The hot sun that comes from the south and west can damage the trunks and branches. Which is clearly harmful to the lemon tree. Due to sunburn, there is a possibility of rough, peeling, or cracked areas of bark that lead to deadwood underneath.

    3. Alkaline Soil: The best soil PH for lemons is like most other plants in the range of 5.5-6.5. When the Alkaline soils with a PH of 7.0 or above, the iron in the soil is rendered unavailable to the tree, resulting in iron deficiency or a citrus disease also well known as chlorosis. To identify chlorosis, search between the veins of the leaves for a yellowing. The new leaves are usually yellow or green. To improve soil PH add some suitable organic matter. Acidity widely – alkaline soils by applying a solution of 1/4 – 1/2 cup of white vinegar in 2 gallons of water, use commercial soil acidification.
     
    4. Nitrogen-Deficient Soil: A lack of Nitrogen can be seen as yellowing older leaves while new leaves are green and healthy. For the nitrogen level in the soil, apply a fertiliser like chicken manure underneath mulch ( it protects the roots from heat, and cold, or prevents soil loss, it controls weeds and enriches the soil). 
     
    The suitable place to grow Bearss Lemon & is it possible to grow Bearss Lemon in South Asia? –
     For the Bearss Lime you need to choose a perfect location in your yard that receives a minimum of 8 – 12 hours of sunlight each day. Make sure to place your plant properly so that it can get sufficient sunlight. 
    Well-drained,  slightly acidic to neutral soil around PH 6.0 to 7.0 is one of the very mandatory acts that need to be carried out for the Bearss Lemon. 
    It is believed that it originated in India and Southeast Asia but now there are grown all around the world. It is also hoped to be found in Bangladesh, Myanmar, China…
